In the pilgrims’ footsteps….

Start at Nidarosdomen Cathedral, Bispegata at 1100 hours

Latest return at Nidarosdomen Cathedral at 1500 hours

Pilgrims from many countries arrive in Trondheim every year, in increasing numbers. Come with us to «Sundet farm”, one of Norway’s finest pilgrim accomodations. A good night’s sleep and a meal in beautiful surroundings, are what the pilgrims need before the very last day of the walk to the cathedral of Nidarosdomen.

This is what you will see and experience:

A lovely drive along the Trondheimsfjord, rich agricultural areas and big farms

The small, medival church of Byneset (year 1180), with a panoramic view

Sundet farm, dating back to the 1300 hundreds, which has received travellers since then, due to a royal command saying they had to transport any traveller across the nearby river of Gaula – and they still row pilgrims across.

Storytelling – over the years the farm has received royals and other celebrities, as well as traditional pilgrims. Our host will tell more about this and today’s pilgrims; who are they, where do they come from and why are they pilgrims?

Coffee and some homemade delicacies at Sundet farm

A short “pilgrim walk” - if you wish to

A brief stop at the best viewpoint of Trondheim, before arrival at the Cathedral

This tour is also available for groups on request.
